Belt conveyors, also known as belt conveyors, are widely used in various industries such as household appliances, electronics, electrical appliances, machinery, tobacco, injection molding, postal and telecommunications, printing, food, etc., for the assembly, testing, debugging, packaging, and transportation of objects. Line conveyor can be selected according to process requirements, including various control methods such as normal continuous operation, rhythm operation, and variable speed operation; The selection of line body according to local conditions includes straight lines, bends, slopes, and other line form conveying equipment, including belt conveyors, also known as belt conveyors or belt conveyors, which are indispensable economic logistics conveying equipment for forming rhythmic assembly lines. Belt conveyors can be divided into heavy-duty belt conveyors such as mining belt conveyors based on their conveying capacity, and lightweight belt conveyors such as those used in industries such as electronics and plastics, food and light industry, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
Belt conveyors have strong conveying capacity, long conveying distance, simple structure and easy maintenance, and can easily implement programmed control and automated operations. The continuous or intermittent movement of conveyor belts is used to transport items below 100KG, as well as powdered and granular items. It operates at high speed, smoothly, with low noise, and can be transported uphill and downhill.
Characteristics of transmission principle
The traction force of the tape conveyor is transmitted through the friction between the transmission drum and the tape, so the tape must be tightened with a tensioning device to have a certain initial tension at the separation point of the transmission drum.
⑵ The tape runs together with the cargo on the carrier roller. The tape is both a traction mechanism and a load-bearing mechanism, and there is no relative movement between the cargo and the tape, eliminating the frictional resistance between the tape and the cargo during operation. Due to the installation of rolling bearings inside the roller, there is rolling friction between the tape and the roller, which greatly reduces the running resistance, thereby reducing power consumption and increasing transportation distance. The traction transmission capacity of a tape conveyor is determined by the tension of the tape, the wrap angle of the tape on the drive drum, and the friction coefficient between the tape and the drive drum. To ensure that the tape of the belt conveyor does not slip on the transmission drum and operates normally, corresponding measures should be taken according to different situations in production practice. Improving the transmission ability of traction can be achieved from the following aspects:
⑴ Increase the tension force (initial tension). During the operation of the tape conveyor, the tape needs to elongate, causing a decrease in traction. Therefore, it is necessary to use a tensioning device to appropriately tighten the tape, increase the tension of the tape, and improve traction according to the situation.
⑵ Increase the coefficient of friction. The specific measures are to protect the wooden lining or rubber lining covered on the transmission drum to increase the friction coefficient, and on the other hand, to reduce the amount of coal discharged to prevent a decrease in the friction coefficient.
⑶ Increase the enclosure angle. Due to poor working conditions, underground belt conveyors require large traction force, so double drum transmission is often used to increase the enclosing angle.
operational principle
A belt conveyor mainly consists of two end rollers and a closed conveyor belt tightly attached to them. The drum that drives the conveyor belt to rotate is called the drive drum (transmission drum); Another drum that only changes the direction of the conveyor belt movement is called a directional drum. The driving drum is driven by an electric motor through a reducer, and the conveyor belt is driven by the frictional force between the driving drum and the conveyor belt. The driving drum is generally installed at the discharge end to increase traction and facilitate dragging. The material is fed into the feeding end and falls on the rotating conveyor belt. It is transported to the unloading end by friction of the conveyor belt for unloading.
Applicable scope
It can be used for horizontal or inclined transportation and is very convenient to use. It is widely used in various modern industrial enterprises, such as underground tunnels in mines, surface transportation systems in mines, open-pit mining sites, and ore dressing plants. According to the requirements of the conveying process, it can be transported by a single unit, or multiple units can be combined with other conveying equipment to form a horizontal or inclined conveying system, to meet the needs of different layout forms of operation lines.
Belt conveyors are widely used in metallurgy, coal, transportation, water and electricity, chemical and other departments because they have the advantages of large conveying capacity, simple structure, convenient maintenance, low cost, and strong universality.
Belt conveyors are also used in sectors such as building materials, electricity, light industry, grain, ports, and ships.
